As part of the overall review of the UK medicines supply chain, a consultation from the MHRA (MLX 365) sets out proposals to strengthen controls throughout the legitimate supply chain. This will have implications for (amongst others) holders of wholesale dealer’s licences, import for export, community and hospital pharmacy. The current limited exemption for pharmacies will be further restricted to occasional, not for profit supply of small quantities of medicines to meet individual patient’s needs.
