Regulations Change Controlled Drugs Registers

Implementation (Feb 08) of changes to CD registers. Removes “prescribed format” and requires specified headings for information including proof of identity requirements for Sch 2 CDs. Running balances and prescriber ID are not yet legal requirements. Reference SI 2007 SI 2154 reg 4 (9)

Consultation Rules Out CQC Registration of Pharmacies

Further consultation (Mar 08) on registration framework for providers under the Health and Social Care Bill rules out inclusion of community pharmacies usual dispensing and diagnostic activities, but may be included if their future roles expand as envisaged in the White Paper (see April below)
